Heftkritik: Slanted #7 – Geometrics. Porn.

For typographic maniacs this magazine is a must have - but also everybody interested and involved into graphic design will love Slanted for sure. Issue #7 deals with type and design that is based on basic geometric forms like square, circle and triangle - and features “Type essays” from Dan Reynolds (”Geometric Type and Where it Comes from”), Florian Walzel (”Elementargeometrie eins”) and Ian Moore (”Making geometric type work”); interviews with Ed Benguiat, John Collins and Jan Middendorp; geometric works and projects from Hort, Benoit Lemoine, Labour and Mind Design as well as works of students. Another fantastic idea are “Illustrated Fontnames” - curated by Raban Ruddigkeit. And the third magazine section connects the magazine with the weblog slanted - discussions about entries, archives of fonts, books and magazines. Very interesting for all magazine lovers: the book-/magazine shops “do you read me?!” and “Soda” present their current favorite publications. You can see more pictures from this issue here - and, of course, also order it for 12 €.
